Hi,

Is there anyway I can use two processors on a motherboard having a single processor socket. I have a basic intel motherboard (DG45TY - LGA775 socket) and two processors (Pentium 4 and a core 2 quad). I can manually open the processor's heat sink and change the processors. But is there any way to connect the two processors at the same time and select one of them during booting up the PC.

I am taking a shot in the dark but if there is any way, it will save me time.

Thanks,

Arvind Gupta.

Solution
No. Neither the motherboard nor the CPUs themselves have the correct hardware to support dual socket use. Only Xeons can be used in a dual socket config, and that requires a true dual socket motherboard.

This is only slightly less complexity as "Can I graft on a 3rd arm coming out out my chest? It will save me time when doing the dishes."

No, you can't do this.
