If you wait for zen you can compare it's price per performance ratio against the Intel chips and decide then. If your in no hurry to upgrade.
The i5 won't dissapont you one bit if upgrading right now is what you want, and money is not a concern.

Meantime if your looking to upgrade regardless, but can wait.
Go for a hyper 212 evo and over clock on air. Water cooling will cost a lot more and may not yield the results you want.
Then wait for Zen.

Considering the FX-8350 is out-performed in most games by a $110 Intel CPU, I would not spend much on cooling for it. As heavymetal2000 says, if you want to overclock, grab something cheap (<$30) like the 212 EVO, and wait a bit to see how things pan out. I expect Zen is not going to make much of a splash for most desktop users, but the longer you hold onto your FX, the more CPU power you'll be able to get for your dollar, as Intel generally releases their next generation of CPUs at the same price as their old ones.

What cooler did your prebuilt include?

Intel or Zen. Don't bother with that old platform anymore.

EDIT: Btw, that prebuilt surely came with a motehrboard that's not capable of properly overclocking that CPU. Most MBs aren't, and those that are are expensive, so i don;t think an integrator woudl use them.

The Mobo is; 760gma-p34 msi 7641
I can overclock it there is the option in the bios but I think its just better to wait.

No, you can't and will not be overclocking on that MB. Don't even try to upgrade to an FX 8350, as that MB can't eve support that under heavy load.
It's exactly like i anticipated, so i stand by my recommendation.

keep you processor junk the nvidea card cause its not only a dinosaur its also a stick in your wheels nvidea is powerless against the smallest segment of amd video cards if u want watercooling u want silence that will be guarenteed and for god sake toss that mobo u get a fifty dollar mobo for 8350 with 16xpci for video cant get that deal from intel unless u want to go even further into ancient technology
