Hi,
Yesterday I asked if I could upgrade my RAM. Someone helpfully amended my choice for upgrading hardware. After which I procured said hardware. I received it an hour ago and immediately tried plugging it in after removing the old 4gb stick.
But the computer would run, and nothing would start. Not bios or windows. Nothing. I put back in the old 4bgb stick. Thinking to check out the Internet for clues as to what I did wrong, bit now my desktop won't start at all. I can hear it running but nothing isnstarting up. Any help would be appreciated.

hardware involved is Asus b75m-a motherboard. 970 gtx graphic card. Quad core i3770 3.4 ghz
And I don't know what else might be needed for additional background information.

Did that already. And also in the furthest away. Thanks for the quick reply anyway .

Edit. Uhm....somehow, using one of the two cartridges (2x8 for 16gb) in the slot closest to the cpu allows my desktop to boot. If I plug in the second one however, still nothing happens. Puzzling me even more now that one suddenly works whereas before nothing did.

So, have been working on this most of the night and most of this day, but I am still unable to get the second memory card in. I have scoured the internet as much as I could, but I'm afraid none of the answers seem to be within my grasp of understanding, or relevant. Anybody out there that might have an idea as to how I can solve my problem?

The old one was 4gb ddr3 - 1600 UDIMM 1.5v from Crucial, and the model number seems a bit long, so I might be mistaken, but appears to be: CT51264BA160BJ.C8FER
The new one is HyperX Fury 16 GB DIMM DDR3-1600 2 X 8 GB.

Regarding the BIOS, I have no idea how to check BIOS versions or that they could indeed be updated.
I just did, and found out that 4 updates have been released since then. I will update it now. I do have an additional question, before I do. Will it the effects of the update do anything to other software? Like, do I need to reinstall anything? Or is there a risk that the bios will clash with other hardware, which will prevent a booting after this? Also, do i need to install each four, in chronoloical order, or can I just skip to the latest one?

Thanks for the help, in any case. With just this I am one step closer to solve the problem.
