What are the benefits of VRAM overclocking?

Okay so i know obviously about overclocking the GPU core and i have my 960 at the moment running at +150 mhz with +12 and custom fan speed curve,however i was wondering for those of you who are experienced overclockers i would love to know what the benefits of VRAM overclocking,
any help is appreciated,thanks in advance.

In theory, the VRAM runs a little bit faster than the advertised speed.
There is no absolute number of "increase FPS by x frames/sec".

You get higher FPS. The textures and images for your games are stored in VRAM as you play it. Faster VRAM clock rates means you can move that info to your gpu cores faster. This allows your GPU to perform the tasks faster, which allows it to perform more tasks per second.
