I recently bought a NEEWER NW-700 microphone, it connects to a InnoGear IG101 phantom power supply via aux, then to my Asus DGX Xonar soundcard. I have microphone boost enabled, which I know increases the buzzing but I need it to increase the volume, my microphone level is also at 100. I've tried switching plugging it into my motherboard jack and I get the same issue. If anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it, thankyou

Solution
Somewhere along the hardware chain, noise is being introduced into the system. Your software-based microphone boost is boosting the noise, since it's the dominant feature in the waveforms coming in. Check your entire chain of hardware for potential noise being introduced into the system, like dust in a jack or a loose connection. I've had a case where even just a slightly exposed RCA connection laid on thick carpet introduced a helluva lot of noise into the system.
