On my PS3 slim the hdmi port the pins where you can actually see them in the port not the motherboard some are missing, so i was wondering if getting a new motherboard would wipe the hard drive or if my save files would stay there? It is only 70 dollars for a new board and 140 for repair of the hdmi port at the stores where i live so i just want to buy a new board.

Any user account you have on your system... the ones that have PSN accounts attached to them are most important. All you do after you install the new board is make new user accounts for each PSN account. Then, go into each user account and just sign into all of your PSN accounts. Anything that you do online is always connected to your PSN account, so yes. MW3, along with any online game requires your PSN account to retrieve your progress. If you have DLC or any other games/content downloaded from the PlayStation Store, your PSN accounts will be essential to retrieve those as well.

This is why you must know the credentials for all of your accounts if you have more than one. Or, you could just remember the credentials of the accounts you...

You can use the HDD Backup Utility on your PS3 to back up your hard drive. The reason I say this instead of telling you to just carry your hard drive over is because I've tried putting my HDD in my friend's PS3, but it ended up wiping the hard drive. So, if I were you, I would back up the HDD to a USB instead. Now, another issue is whether you have enough space to back up your HDD to a USB. Also, your user accounts are not saved on the hard drive, so make sure you that if you have multiple accounts on your system, that you remember all of the credentials so that you can put them back later.

When you mean you accounts do you mean psn? Or the other accounts that you start from when you turn on the system? And with mw3 is the save file on there like the rank and the weapons and ranking on survival is that connected to my PSN account?

This is why you must know the credentials for all of your accounts if you have more than one. Or, you could just remember the credentials of the accounts you want to keep. If you have bought items from the PlayStation Store, they will be attached to whatever account you bought those specific items from. If you have bought things from several accounts, then you will need all of your accounts if you wish to re-download your purchased content.

Also, if you have substantial online progress on a certain account, just make sure to get the credentials for that account. After you sign into the account, your games will fetch your online stats and progress. IF you have other accounts with good stats, just do the same for those as well.

so i checked i have no pictures or videos just save files from games and the I'm not sure if it is a user account but at the beginning where you choose the different account not PSN but the user is that in any way connected to my games or anything, so i don't have to worry about losing anything if i only have the one PSN account the games and trophies are connected to it with online progress and all that?
