Hi guys,

Just abit of advice, we've been gifted a asus eeetop et2010agt all in one desktop PC. Thought I'd do abit of upgrading on the machine so I've put 8gb of ram in, upped the hdd to 1tb. The unit currently has a Athlon II x2 1.6 250u cpu. I know I can upgrade this to the 250 3.0ghz cpu but it's the wattage usage that bothers me. The current cpu draws 24w where as the 250 draws 45w, is it a simple case of upgrading my external power supply which is rated at 65w or is it a total no go? Please humour me on this, I just want to get this running as fast as possible for my other half! Cheers

I would definitely avoid higher wattage processors as that PSU has to feed the CPU (25W), discrete graphics (13-15W), along with all of the other components in the system. Within the 25W envelope there isn't much variety; you can use up to a Athlon II X2 270u which is 25% faster than your current CPU. That's as high as you can go, I'm afraid.
