Hi,

I have been doing a lot of research about liquid cooling and there is but one question (for now) that is troubling me. If I wish to use liquid cooling on my CPU, is it enough to buy a, for example, Corsair Hydro Series H115i without a pump and reservoir? Or do I need to set up the entire liquid cooling system? I'm new to the whole custom PC world and it's something that has me in doubt because I know that if I want to liquid cool my entire PC I have to set up the system.

Thank you very much!

There are two ways to go about liquid cooling. One way is to get an all in one cooler like that H115i that has a pump, radiator, water block, and everything else already together. These are mostly maintenance free, but they have a greater risk of failing than air cooling. It's less likely to leak than a custom loop, but if a pump fails, you need to replace the whole thing. You could also build a custom loop. You'll need a radiator, water blocks, a pump, tubing, a reservoir, and various fittings. You'll also need coolant. This'll require quite a bit of effort and it'll get expensive. You may need to perform occasional maintenance, but if something like a pump or radiator stops working you have the ability to replace it without having to...
