So I currently have a really out dated GTX 650Ti. It plays most games at decent framerate but some games I dip down into the 40fps range.

I was wondering if a 1060 would get my at least 60FPS on every game out? The main game that is running pretty poorly is H1Z1. I love the game but playing at 40fps is a killer in an FPS game..

Should I get the 1060 for $289 or keep saving for a 1070 or 1080? I only game at 1080p with no plans on going 4k anytime soon.

I do no need anything over 60fps since my monitor setup is all 60Hz. I have 3 monitors by the way if that makes any difference as well.

h1z1 does not take much gpu to run well

it is VERY cpu bound though, and the main reason you are probably not getting good fps

complete specs?

Oh gothca, I currently have an i5-4430 CPU. Should I upgrade my processor instead?

650ti on 3 monitors? Are you trying to game on all 3 monitors simultaneously? Poor 650ti.

If H1Z1 is anything like Planetside 2, assuming they're both on a similar engine, both your CPU and GPU are struggling together, even at 1080p. If you've got a small budget and can only upgrade one component, I'd upgrade the GPU first, seeing that the i5 4430 and 4460 are nearly identical in performance, and I'm able to run Planetside 2 at 60+ fps in very heavy combat the vast majority of the time with greatly modified ini files and visual settings at 1440p ultrawide. By today's standards, that 650ti is really, really weak, especially if you're trying to run 3 monitors off of it. Looking at ini tweaks for H1Z1 would be a great way to increase your fps and competitive edge if you haven't done so already.

In terms of CPU upgrades, you'd have to go overclock balls to the wall for games like H1Z1 and Planetside2 to have a beautiful, buttery smooth fps. I hear PS2 also benefits somewhat from hyperthreading, but I don't know if H1Z1 will benefit the same.

Even if a better GPU doesn't give you that ideal fps, at least it's one step forward towards a full system overhaul. xD
