New Router Recommendation

Recently upgraded to >100Mbps dl speed and from what I understand, speed tests on my PC are returning 66-70Mbps down is because my current router, a Linksys EA6100, has 10/100 ports so the wired connections between the modem to router and the router to PC are capped at 100Mbps in ideal conditions. For me to actually get the upgraded speed, I would need a new router correct?

What router would you recommend if I want the following:
- No WPS or whatever they call setting up the router over wifi
- reliable and stable
- 802.11g supported (in case newer routers have dropped it)
- <$150 preferably
- Gigabit Ethernet ports

Thanks in advance

In general the best price/performance router are going to be 802.11ac routers that claim 1200m. Since most end equipment only supports 2 overlapping feeds because they only have 2 antenna the 300m speed on 2.4g and 900m speed on 5g tend to be the fastest your average device will support. Buying a router with more only makes sense if you have end device that can use it. Be aware though to get 100m on wireless you generally need devices that can support 3 antenna feeds. The 2 feed 900m will come close to 100m but it varies greatly from house to house.

I would look for devices you can load third party firmware on like dd-wrt or many others. This should give you more choice in options.

It would be nice if a router had WPS...

It would be nice if a router had WPS completely removed from the code but because router manufactures want to sell expensive routers to the lazy idiots we will have to live with at least having the ability to turn it off. I just wish the routers yelled and screamed at people about the WPS option like they do if you attempt to run wireless without encryption or use WEP.
