CPU APU or CPU GPU combo?

Pretty much any apu as long as it isn't one of the super cheap ones will be able to handle HTPC tasks. Since You said you won't game on it I would just get an apu.

Apu is amd's term and with the age and performance, I wouldn't use an apu. At least not til I see what zen does. Since there is no gaming anyways, it's not like you need a better igpu or gpu. You're other thread mentioned z170 but you won't need that nor need to spend more since you can finder cheaper chipsets.
