Hi all,

I'm experiencing an issue, maybe someone else has experienced it?

I have a USB stick, and I wish to use it for ReadyBoost.

By the way, does anyone think ReadyBoost is worth using?

The OS tells me that the stick is fine for ReadyBoost when I plug it into the native USB port. However, I want to plug the USB stick into an internal USB port on a PCI USB expansion card, the OS says it doesn't meet the requirements.

I feel like the PCI card is causing the OS not to be able to run its speed test on the device.

Anyone know any work-arounds?

Thanks

From https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff356869.aspx :

External storage must meet the following requirements:

Capacity of at least 256 MB, with at least 64 kilobytes (KB) of free space. The 4-GB limit of Windows Vista has been removed.
At least a 2.5 MB/sec throughput for 4-KB random reads
At least a 1.75 MB/sec throughput for 1-MB random writes

If your expansion card cannot meet any of these requirements then it cannot be used for ReadyBoost.
