Which GPU to buy next?

Hey everyone,

So my current GPU is an AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 Series. I bought this gaming rig from a relative a few years ago, so right now I'm not actually sure how 'good' all the components are by today's standards.

I'm looking to upgrade the GPU though, partly because I think the bearings might have gone in one of the fans (annoying clicking sound), partly because for some reason the fans themselves are stuck at 100%, and partly because I'm aware it's at the end of its life anyway.

My question is, what would be considered a good upgrade from this model? Looking to keep running games in high-ultra (preferably ultra) at 60fps for as long as possible.

I currently have 16GB of installed RAM, and an Intel i7-3770 CPU @3.40GHz if that helps. I'm pretty sure the CPU is good for now, but let me know if this would also need upgrading?

Sorry for the waffly question, and thanks in advance!

How much are you spending on planing. IF you are playing 1080p and want 60fps high settings, a GTX 1060/RX 480 will be just fine for you. If you want to step up to something like 21:9 Ultrawide or 1440p, go for a GTX 1070.

Thanks for the reply. :)

Happy to spend whatever it costs, honestly. It'll be a good and well used investment so I'm not trying too hard to budget myself.

I'm planning to just stay at 1080p, so I'll take a look at what you recommended. What will be the lifespan on something like that?

Thank you. :) I realise I never asked - what sort of level is my GPU? I was told it was high end when it came out, but I don't even know when that was.

I apologise for all the questions!
