No, sadly you can't. It is a socket 775 board. I recommend a whole new motherboard with a new CPU. Whats your motherboard?

Don't get a 1x8GB DRAM, you lose dual channel which can be up to a 10-15% performance loss, get 2x4GB

1x8 leaves room for a 16GB upgrade down the line. Dual channel won't give much of a performance boost in games.
