This is my first time building a PC and I wanted to save money so I bought a mother that didn't include WI-FI, TP-LINK TL-WN823N 2.4 GHz 300 Mbps ( WiFi adaptor ) is what I bough to connect wireless to my router. My router was working fine with my old computer with its built in connection.I haven't moved where I am in the house and my SPEEDTEST.net answers are still the same.

I can; browse the internet, watch YouTube videos and download what I want at my regular speed.

I cant: play online games or my ping spikes to 250-1K+

My only guess is the 300Mbps isn't enough but the games (Overwatch,CS:GO,League Of Legends) I play I don't think are using this much data per second im not sure.

EDIT: Im able to play Battlerite withought any lag so im guessing its because of the amount of data it uses per second.

Are your drivers up to date?

300mbps is more than enough. An HD Netflix video will stream at about 4-5mbps for comparison.
Try restarting everything, updating drivers, checking your settings, making sure wifi devices are in good locations, etc.

Ok thanks for the response also my first time using this site so appreciate the help.

Location: USB port in my PC (7 metres away from my router and 2 walls)
I used the disk included to make the device work I guess it updated the drivers, I will check though
I'm gonna restart now thanks :) hopefully it works.
