I performed a clean install of Windows 10 and then installed Samsung Magician. I see that my AHCI mode is now deactivated in Samsung Magician. I checked AHCI in Device Drivers and it says it is functioning and working properly. Perhaps another bug in Samsung Magician for the latest version of Windows 10? (version 1607)

It is a fairly well-known bug in the SM program. Ensure that your motherboard's BIOS setting for SATA controller mode does reflect that AHCI is enabled.
And make sure you're using the latest version 4.9.7 of SM...http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools.html

I definitely have 4.97 of SM, and before I had a clean install, SM showed as AHCI activated. My BIOS has no AHCI setting as it's new laptops from HP all have AHCI. Also, it shows in Device Drivers, ATA/ATAPI controllers as: 6th generation Core Processor Family Platform I/O AHCI Controller. The drivers show as up to date as well. To me it looks like an issue with the new 1607 version of Windows 10. No changes were made to the BIOS what so ever.

Well, it's hard to imagine the Windows OS impacted this specific issue, but who knows?
In any event since you're apparently assured your SATA controller mode is set for AHCI, there doesn't seem to be anything to be concerned about.
If you have the inclination you can do a check to see if the system has been enabled for SSD Trim with the following prompt...
fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify
If 0 is returned Trim is enabled (as is AHCI)
If 1 is returned it is not
