So...I have an asus gtx 1060 dual oc, and when i'm playing a game ( far cry 4 for example) in 1080p, the gpu it's getting hot (80c) and i think it does this because the gpu it boost by itself. So i tried to lower the power limit to 90% using the msi afterburner.
Is it good to do this? what are the side effects? Also 80 degrees it's fine for this gpu or this heat could broke it? How long will last?
Thank you in advise!

Leave all the settings on default. GPu manufacturers know what they are doing. Anything under 90C is fine and dandy and will not negatively affect teh GPUs lifespan.

Ok, thank you for your advise. But...lowering the power limit can affect the gpu or not? i don't know...

The only effect it will have is to decrease boost clocks and implicitly performance. Why on earth would you do that?
