What is the cheapest i5 on skylake

What is it being used for? The cheaper i3 6100 performs equally well to the i5 6400 in games. Yes its dual core but it has hyperthreading so 4 threads and a higher clock speed.

I plan to pair the cpu with a rx 480 or gtx 1060 for heavy gaming in fps and rpg games
