Total build noob here.

I'm going to build an intel gaming rig

Not sure which route to go

Skylake or haswell?

I5 or i7?

And finally after that gets decided
Which motherboard?

Going to have a 512g Samsung 950 m2 ssd and a 1t 7200 rpm hdd
For now anyway

Nvidia gtx 1080

Any advice, opinions, info, help will all be appreciated

Thanks in advance!

GraySilencer and lilly_lilly thanks for all the info!

I'm buying the monitor separate from my build budget.

Actually any recommendations for that?
I've been using laptops for years so I had no monitor

I measured and I can fit up to a 27" comfortably
I'll be using a separate monitor budget
Also I was able to get a gtx 980 for 200 bucks of a friend so I'll be using that to start.
