I wanted to do clean install of windows 7 professional on old Dell desktop. I am using dell branded installation cd. I am changing boot sequence to onboard/cd rom. When confirming boot from cd i can hear dvd moving a bit and nothing happens- blank screen. When tried it for first time it stuck on windows is loading files. Dvd rom works fine. Dvd is clean. I meet minimal requirements for operating system. Dell Dimension 9200 core 2 duo 6400 2.13Mhz 2 gb Ram. There are 2 drives described in manager as stripped 0.
Please help

Sounds like the drives are set up in a RAID0 array. If you are sure you have backed up any and all data you require...re-boot the machine and start pressing Ctrl + I to get into the RAID setup menu, and remove the RAID array. Then you should be able to reboot with the Win 7 CD loaded and re-install.

Thanks for advice. Did that. removed Raid. Now no operating system. I also restored bios to defaults.Seams like it did not help. When booting from dvd again loading files and after reaching the end nothing happens. I also did it on 2 drives and again on 1 drive (2nd disabled in bios) What may be the problem?
