I am able to get a free gtx 770 from a friend to upgrade my r9 270. My pc is a:
CPU:AMD FX-6300 Six Core 3.5/4.1GHZ Processor AM3+ 14MB Cache
HDD:Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive
CPU Cooler:Cooler Master Fan RR-HT2-28PK-R1 Hyper T2 Heatsink CPU Cooler
RAM:Kingston HyperX Fury Memory Black 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1866
Motherboard:MSI 970A-G43 Plus ATX AM3+ 970/SB950 DDR3 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SATA3 CrossFireX USB3.1 Motherboard
and my power supply is a EVGA 500W 80 PLUS CERTIFIED ACTIVE PFC 12V 34A POWER SUPPLY
Will that sufficiently power my build with a GTX 770?

Solution
You should be okay.

It depends also on whether you overclock. A light overclock probably won't hit 400W for the system total.

quality?
that's a very confusing topic. you're probably fine IMO.
that power supply is a sketchy low end EVGA one ( EVGA sells great PSUs, that is just not one of them) I draw the line of a decent EVGA PSU at the 500B2 (not the B or BQ) that or a Seasonic S12 II Bronze 520W are nice and cheap but can be trusted far more.
