BULK vs OEM

Solution

Looks like both are low end CWT built units. The GPA line aren't 80+ certified at all but it's possible a batch was made for an OEM. It's just as likely mislabled where ever you are reading it though. Junk. Avoid them.
Well both are going to be horrid pieces of junk but if I were to garner a bet I'd say bulk would just be one from a huge bunch? Or if you want to order like 100 of them? They're most likely the exact same thing, but based on this question it sounds like you're a consumer in which I wouldn't put this cube thing into my computer.

Thanks for your answers.I'd also like to brush up my knowledge so the first question that came up to my mind is what's wrong with this model? from what i read chieftec produces solid power supplies and this one is highly rated by various customer :). I'm interesed in a 400W PSU. I'd like to spend as low as possible. (Poland)

as Anort has said, they are based of an inferior system platform, and are very inefficient. they are cheaply made, and cannot be trusted with a high load. where did you read that they are good? because the only thing on it for reviews when you google it is cheiftec themselves and a bunch of sites where people just put in their own two cents.

Chieftech make crap PSUs. For further reference you can consult this list. It's not perfect, but is a good guide to begin with: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
Chieftech is not listed, but you'll have to trust me.
Look for either an XFX TS 430W, Seasonic s12ii 430 or Super Flower SF-550P14HE. They shoudl be cheap enough.
Anything lower and you may end up sourly regretting your decision.

What could be the consequences if i used that chieftec in my potential computer ? 400W is plenty in my case. (I used a Power Supply Calculator to check it).

Corsair VS450 450W 80PLUS BOX

What about Corsair listed above?

That's poor quality too. Are the ones i listed that expensive?
the consequences of a bad PSu range from resets and BSODs to teh system not working altogether to all the components getting fried.
Seeing as it powers teh whole thing, one would think it obvious that the PSU merits a good invesment, no?

If you're from teh US, you canlt get that as it's 220V only.
Though theres an excelent rabate on this going on now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139147&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

The platform is the design of the circuitry of the PSU. a platform can be shared by many brands. for instance, the high end EVGA PSUs use the same platform as Superflower, as super flower made the platform. likewise, if the platform used is an inferior design ( testing will show thus meaning if the platform is bad, then it is possible to know if other PSUs will be bad if they have the same platform.) then anything using it should be avoided.
