The title says it all, I'm going to be buying the H440 case from NZXT, and buying the Strix GTX 1070 from Asus, but I'm deciding between the OC or the regular, I want more performance but I found out on PCPartPicker that I would have to remove some drive bays in the case if I were to get the OC, I don't want to remove the drive bays, but I also don't want to lose performance, I know that this question as already been answered but I want fresh answers, so if anyone is going to answer keep in mind that I want the installation of the GPU hassle free since this is my first time building a PC, Thanks!

As MathGeek stated the cards are the same length. I own the non OC version of this card and it is quite long, but no larger than the OC. Asus claims that the OC has better binned chips so you get the stable OC, but I OC'd mine to a stable 2100 (which appears to be the limit for everyone) and I have been able to OC the memory to roughly 8800mhz stable. So to answer your original question, purchase the card that makes you happy because they are both the same size and if you don't want to remove drive cages then maybe get a different case. I have a Source 530 from NZXT and I can have all of my drive cages in if I want....just barely mind you. I hope the helps

both cards are exactly the same size. see here for specs, links and reviews http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902599

only difference is the clock speed out of the box between the 2. will make almost no difference once boost speeds kick in. you'll net within 1 fps with either card. grab the cheaper one and oc it yourself to make up the 1 fps difference

edit: spec sheet for the case says it can hold
"GPU Clearance With HDD Cage: 294mm
GPU Clearance Without HDD Cage: 428mm "

the strix card is 298mm. check a review or 2 to see if it can actually fit that extra few mm or not. if not, see the list i linked above and pick a shorter card. all the dimensions are there for quick reference

I saw a video of a guy installing the OC one and he had to remove some of the bays upward, which block airflow to the CPU from the right fan (front of the case)

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxvmL9kytAY

Hey,
I don't understand what your goal is.

You link a video that shows you really need to remove the drive bays. You also say you don't WANT to do that. You say you know it's been answered already, but you want "fresh answers"?

So what kind of an answer are you looking for?

The CPU getting air is not going to be an issue, so I really don't know what else to say.

First of all, I said "fresh answers" because this question has already been asked, so I want new answers from today instead of an answer from a few months ago. Second, I don't want to remove the drive bays, the reason I linked the video was to make a point that the OC graphics card is larger than the regular one, and I didn't want to do that but I also don't want to lose performance (Regular: 1.51Ghz OC: 1.63 GHz), and I want to have more airflow for the CPU so I won't have to hassle with the heat problems, since this is my first time building a PC.

First of all thanks for the answer! Second, since I want to install the GPU without hassle I think I'm gonna go with the regular one!

??
We established they are the same size, so what is the hassle of the OC version?

yeah but if you outright remove the bays instead of moving them up there shouldn't be a problem
