I have this brand new computer (2-days old). Here is the configuration:

1. CPU: Intel i5-6402P @2.80GHz
2. RAM: 16GB
3. SSD: 250GB Kingston
4. Harddrive: WD Blue 1TB
5. GPU: Zotac GeForce GTX960 2GB
6. Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
7. Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster S24B370
8. Motherboard: Gigabyte B150M-D3H
9. Power Supply: CoolerMaster 600W

(Please let me know if you need more Info)

Here is the problem:

I got this computer a couple of days ago. Using an HDMI-VGA Adapter, I connected the monitor and started it up. After, say, a couple of minutes, the monitor went black, and then I got that "Input not detected" floating message on the monitor (the kind you get if you unplug the monitor input.

The computer did not switch off!

Unplugging and re-plugging the cable (without switching off the computer) brought the display back, but only for about 30-seconds.

After restarting, the display came back on, but the same thing kept happening over and over again - the duration for which it would run kept getting shorter.

I called the guy who made the rig for me and he asked me to:

1. Shut down
2. Remove the graphics card
3. Restart the computer with the display plugged into the motherboard
4.Uninstall the card drivers
5. Shut down
6. Re-install the graphics card
7. Start up, and
8. Install drivers again

Once I did all that, it worked and it worked just fine. Everything ran smoothly and the drivers were setup and what not.

Then, I installed and started playing DOTA 2.

And the same thing happened again - monitor went black and couldn't detect input anymore. Computer was still on and GPU fan was still running.

I have had to do a hard-shut down (shutting down from the main power switch on the cabinet) as nothing can be seen/done after that - although I know that it is still on because at that time because the first time when it ever happened, I was installing the graphics driver in the background and the installation completed after the display had gone.

I spent about INR 60k ($1,000) on this computer and am really hoping that it's something to do with GPU temp or something, cause then I can just put on the air-conditioner at full-blast.

Installed MSI Afterburner to keep an eye on temperature. Current temp is 32-degrees C.

All help is appreciated.
