I have a custom built Windows 7 PC. I find it fairly annoying when I can't connect my audio to the front for headphones and such since I do alot of gaming on my computer. I checked to see if the cable is unplugged or loose but I see it is plugged in. I have HD AUDIO plugged in to the connector. Help would be appreciated!

Solution
since it appears no devices are being shown i would suspect audio drivers are not installed.

step 1- uninstall any audio drivers you may have installed
step 2- install the proper sound drivers for your motherboard
step 3- double check per the motherboard manual that you have the front panel audio connector correct

with that done, restart the computer and check your audio devices. you may also need to right click and show disabled or disconnected devices in some cases. plug your headphones in, they should be automatically selected as default device. if not, set them as default device and run test.

it should not be said but make sure mute is off and volume is at least at halfway.

1) Do you have 2 separate ports for mic and audio?
2) What do you mean by connect my audio to the front?
3) Have you tried selecting a different audio device in control panel

Let me know, then I can help.

1) Yes there is a red-pink port for mic and a green port for audio
2) I meant that when I put in my audio jack I receive no sound
3) I did try to select a different device but no different devices are there besides Digital Audio which is just pure silence

You tried Windows Troubleshooting :Sounds
Uninstalled / Installed in the Device Manager.

There's been occasion that I've had to restart a computer for the Sound to come on.
Other times that I was simply not checking the Volume Level....

Another time I had the Volume up full- but it was Hardly Audible- I had to delete software in the Programs and Re-install a Driver

just a couple of Pointers and Reminders

what sound card is installed?
I see you say you have "HD Audio plugged in".

You may have to go to the "Device Manager" and Install the Driver manually?
Or make sure that you have the correct setting for the Sound Card.
