So I am wondering if the Intel Core i5 6600(No K, not looking to overclock) is worth getting over the Core i5 6500. I mean it doesn't seem like much of a difference, besides the price that is, but maybe you guys know something I don't. By all means drop your knowledgeable information down below. Thank you very much!☺

There isn't much difference, the turbo boost potential for the 6500 is up to 3.6ghz, the 6600 up to 3.9ghz. A 300mhz difference. I'm not sure how much price difference you're looking at, depending on where you're from. In the u.s. it's around a $15 price difference, at that price I'd say it's worth it.

Prices shift, there's a $20 difference between the i5 4590 and 4690 (the previous 4th gen versions of those two cpu's). The price difference used to be closer to $30 between those and they only have a 200mhz difference which made the 4690 non k a bit overpriced for what it offered. With less cost difference with the two you listed and a 300mhz speed difference I think it changes that but that's my opinion and what I think is 'worth it'...

If you're dealing with different currency or price variations where you're located and the price difference equates to more like $30-35 then I wouldn't think it was worthwhile.

The performance between the i5 6500 and the i5 6600 is close in games. There will be a difference, but no more than a couple fps that you won't even notice. For that reason, the i5 6500 has the best price/performance ratio.

But if the difference in price is really little (i don't know what the prices are there) or you don't mind paying for the extra money, you can perfectly go for the i5 6600.

That's up to you. If you want to save some bucks for a GPU or whatever, don't bother going for the i5 6600. The 6500 is enough.

If you are not planning to overclock you should get the i5 6500 or 6600 ( which ever is cheapest ). The 6600 has more clock speed so it may perform slightly better.
