Hi,

I recently acquired a MSI 950GTX Second hand but unopened for $100.

I was planning on using it for my Wife's part-time gaming rig. I felt the performance was a bit lacking and applied my inexperienced hand at some overclocking to get all games within a smooth 30-60 FPS range.

Overclock stats through MSI Afterburner:

Power: 105%
Temp Target: 85 Degrees
Core clock: +50Mhz
Memory Clock: + 300Mhz

The card's temperature ranges from 60 to 75 degrees under load. Average is 65 Degrees in a 25 degree room (It's hot where I live).

I have noticed no artifacts and have gotten just over a 10% increase in FPS in benchmarks such as Shadow of Mordor and Heaven Unigine.

While I'm now happy with the performance I worry how much of the card's lifespan I'm reducing?

Hello!

It depends on how long and how often you are using the system for gaming.

Naturally, the more you use something the more it has to perform, the sooner it dies.

But with an OC involved...as long as the card can cool itself efficiently (which from your temperature readings it's all fine) you won't get much of a difference from its standard life expectancy so it should last about...3 years I'd say.

Hope this helps :)
