Solution
Yeah sounds like a BIOS problem or a bricked board, probably through damaged firmware. It happens Is probably time to get an RMA unless anyone else has any suggestions, but they shouldnt expect us to go to all this trouble when we pay so much for this stuff.

thank you for replying. does bended pins related to the laggy bios? like i said, when i open my pc for the first time the bios runs smoothly ,but from windows logo to start up everything is slow motion. and how can i run on one active core? sorry im a noob about this . and last i didnt install any from website, i only installed everything from the CD that came with motherboard.

Bent pins can cause all kinds of problems, but if, like you did say, the BIOS are failing then it's a MB/CPU/PSU issue. If it's Windows failing it could also be an OS/HDD problem too. They are different problems with different causes. To run on one core go into your BIOS and look for a setting to adjust active cores. Also try updating to the latest drivers from here https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/Z170-PRO-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/ and reset your CMOS first by taking battery out while power is disconnected. If your BIOS fail it is MB/CPU/PSU related.

should i download all of these files on website?? oh btw when i first open my pc i already updated the bios cause i thought thats the way to fix the start up laggy . and main problem is since the bios is really laggy i cant operate well to adjust the core and stuff ,and probably my last option is to check my mobo if i really bend the pins.

Yeah from website ideally especially if you updated BIOS to a newer version than the MB was shipped with.. but if you cant access BIOS at all either try clearing CMOS to reset BIOS or check for bent pins which it sounds like it could be.

alright, im gonna try to download all these files except the bios and bios utilities since my bios is up to date. and i'll let you know . And btw, i also tried to clearing CMOS to reset BIOS by removing the battery and yeah same result , still laggy when entering in BIOS. if this still not gonna work i guess i really have to check my mobo if i really bended the pins, to be honest its really pain the ass to remove the corsair h80i v2 so thats why i said that this is my last option if i really have no choice. sorry for being newbie. thanks for replying though i really appreciate it.

Yup everyone hates checking for bent pins because it means removing cooler, reapplying thermal paste etc etc but if it needs to be done it needs to be done! Good luck. Post your status updates here and I'll be sure to check in. If you examine socket very very carefully and see any pins out of line do not reinstall the CPU chip as it will probably cause more damage. Depending on amount of damage, you may be able to fix it yourself.

Ok, so here's the update. Yesterday i installed everything on website and turn off my pc cause i have work the next day , so after coming home, i removed the CMOS battery and put it back. And tried to power my pc but it stucks at the mobo logo screen and after a few seconds for about 5 to 10 seconds , the pc shutdown itself and automatically power on. So , now since i cant use my pc, i have no choice but to check the mobo and cpu and i'll update again here.

Another update. I checked the mobo and cpu and i think there is no bent pins but, at cpu gold connectors, there is something that looks like a dirt so i tried to clean it off by alcohol. And put everthing back. So here comes another problem. When i turn on my computer, it stucks at mobo logo screen and after few secs, it shutdown itself. And another few seconds, it automatically turn on. So basically its infinite loop turn on turn off. What should i do?

Am sorry to hear that. See if it does it with one RAM stick in one slot at a time. If you have cleared CMOS it's unlikely to be your BIOS. Can u even get into your BIOS? A boot loop usually means your PC isnt passing the POST (Power On Self Test) so its identifying a problem and not allowing the PC to boot. If it IS failing POST. If not it could be incorrect BIOS settings. Try the RAM thing as it could help solve the mystery. Its a case of ruling things out at this stage but there is clearly a problem.

After i came home from work, tried to power on my pc and suddenly the american megatrends logo appeared and i pressed f1. So finally i manage to enter in BIOS without lag. So when im trying to configure the boot settings, suddenly the screen went black and it says "bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+delete" so i pressed it . After that, im back now with same problem. So i think now it might actually works if i clear the CMOS again. So i did but same result, so i sit for about 30mins of infinite loop and suddenly the american megatrends logo appeared again. When i press f1 until now doing the same process again and again but only black screen appeared. I dont know what to do anymore. xD

So i guess that i can say safely that the cause of this problem is my motherboard? If so, im gonna try to contact the manufacturer by tomorrow to ask for replace . As for now im gonna stress my self to fix this. lol
