Upgrading laptop cpu

Hi guys,
I own a toshiba satellite c50dt-b-105 with an AMD A8 6410 APU. It has R5 integrated graphics. I use this laptop for school and medium gaming, but my R5 graphics isn't powerful enough to game. Any way i can upgrade to a A10 or A12 APU?

probably not laptops arent usually able to upgrade cpu like a desktop can

Possibly. It's a socketed processor.

It is usually a question of whether or not it's supported by the Mobo's BIOS. I've done Intel swaps that worked without issue.

as well as bios support you would need to check tdp getting rid of extra heat in a laptop isnt as simple as in a desktop

Yup. Generally you want to stick with the same TDP as the existing processor, as there is very little overhead in laptop cooling designs.

last time i did it was with the old ibm t40-43 series

could get away with it then as no integrated gpu so didnt radically increase temps and gaining 300/400mhz did help in those days

I changed a first-gen i5 to a high-clocked first-gen i7 with the same TDP. At full steam, it just about overwhelms the crappy shared GPU/CPU heat pipe cooling solution Dell put into their slim model.

You cannot upgrade the A8-6410 APU with another APU. That APU is socket BGA769. BGA means Ball Grid Array; that in turn means the APU is soldered into the motherboard and cannot be easily removed without the proper tools.
