CD Drive WD Unlocker

i have wd external hdd my passport product number : WDBACX0010BBK-01
when i connect wd my passport to pc and click on "CD Drive WD Unlocker"
this Message appear : "The application has encountered an unexpected error and is now exiting"

what am i doing ??

Hey there, @merdfa!

Is this the PC you have installed the WD My Passport for the first time? Make sure you are logged as administrator due to the fact that the error could be caused by not having enough rights (Windows security). I'd also recommend you try connecting the external to another computer and see if the same error will pop up.
I'd strongly recommend you uninstall the WD SmartWare software and after you reboot the PC, re-install it. Here's a link to the available WD downloads for your WD My Passport. I'd also recommend reinstalling the WD Drive Utilities and Security software apps that come with the WD My Passport. You will find these as well in the link I've shared.
