Hello, I recently purchased the components for my first build. I went to put it together this weekend. Got to the end, turned on the machine, and everything seemed to be working fine until I realized the GPU fans started up and then my VGA LED light came on and they immediately stopped. There is no display to the monitor and I have a VGA cord plugged in directly to the MOBO. I triple checked all of the connections, I reset BIOS manually, removed CMOS battery for 10 minutes.. Nothing has seemed to work. I RMA'd the GFX Card this morning, hoping that might fix the problem. Does anyone else know what could possibly be wrong? Thanks so much for the help and feedback.

Solution
Check your motherboard power cable, I had the exact same issue where my pc would start and the led's would turn on for about half a second then shut down immediately. I then unplugged all the cables and plugged them in again and it solved the problem. Bear in mind the angle of what you put in the motherboard cables do matter also. Good Luck.
