OK, in that case go for the reference card. You may want to consider the 4GB version as well.

Card vendors know that fancy coolers sell for more.
But, any cooler, including stock blower types will do the job.
I like blowers better because they keep your case cooler by expelling hot air directly.

In this case, 8gb is a real plus and I would expect it to perform better.
If I recall correctly benchmarks showed higher performance with the 8gb variants than 4gb indicating that there is more than a Vram difference.
Look for those reviews to verify.
