Re-use of HP case (e9180F) for a new system build?

Hi, I’m thinking about building a new system and one option is building a new PC by reusing the case and some components from my HP e9180F desktop. Essentially I would keep the case, front panel card reader, DVD and BD drives, and some upgraded components like network card, SSD and VGA. I would purchase new power supply, MB, CPU and DDR4 memory. I’m thinking about upgrading to AMD MB/CPU (Vishera) - any other suggestions are welcomed!

So my question is if anyone has experience with reuse of HP cases? Are any of HP components and connections proprietary or everything is more or less standard? For example will new MB or PSU unit fit into the HP case? Will connecting DVD and BD to new MB be easy? Connecting front panel USB and card reader to new MB? Also, would I have any problems with airflow? Would stock CPU cooler suffice or should I look for an aftermarket cooler as well. I’m not planning to do overclocking or any intensive use but I hear that HP cases don’t have a great airflow.

In essence is it worth to keep the case for a new system or is it easier to look for a new case as well? Any insight, experience, or suggestion would be helpful.

Thanks!

New case = $50
You will expend far more than $50 in brainpower trying to force that HP thing to work well with new parts.

Thanks so much for your answers. That makes total sense. On other side, I assume I will have no problems with reusing DVD and BD drive and card reader from hp and installing them in the new case/system?
