Cant install nvidia driver for forza horizon 3

Im trying to install 372.90 through geforce experience and the installation goes through as normal and the installer tells me to restart my pc, but when my pc restarts, the generic windows driver is installed and the driver that i just downloaded and installed isnt. I have managed to get 368.81 but this driver version will not work with forza horizon 3.

instead of using GFE try installing the driver manually. you can directly download the drivers from nvidia geforce.com. also you might want to so clean driver install using DDU

I'm having the EXACT same issue. Tried uninstalling the drivers using DDU and reinstalling many times, but no luck. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem...

SOLVED!

After several emails back and forth with the Nvidia support team, they advised me that a program that may be installed on my computer could be causing the drivers to fail. They told me to search for anything called "iDisplay", "Duet Display" or "Kairos Display". I eventually found something called "OBASE iDisplay" and uninstalled it. Restarted the computer and was able to install the 372.90 drivers without any issues.

Hope that works for everyone else!
