Hello,
I am a not very experienced with hardware and my motherboard for my gaming desktop recently died leaving me in need of replacement.

I was hoping someome could recommend me a good motherboard that will work with these components:
Intel processor (i5 i believe, cant check under the fan/heatsink for fear of breaking something)
Evga supernova 750 b2 power supply
Crucial mx100 ssd
2x g-skill sniper ram
Xfx radeon r9 280a-TD
Cooler Master case (the midsize one, not the larger one) N200?

Any help with finding an appropriate motherboard would be greatly appreciated.

There is no way to be definitive if you do not know what your current motherboard is or what cpu is installed.
If your motherboard is dead, you are going to have to eventually remove the cpu to replace it.
Damage removing a cpu is unlikely.

Writing on the motherboard will likely identify it.
Post a picture perhaps.
Installing one is when typical damage occurs.

Sorry for the delay, work came up. I originally had a functional motherboard in there which broke roughly 6 months ago, dont remember the model. I brought it into a local repair shop to have it fixed, which they did but apparently they replaced it with a cheap micro-ITX instead of a comparable ATX to lower costs that cannot function properly with the video card. I found that out at a different repair store this afternoon. I will need a new model of motherboard, not another of the same.
