So, I currently have an Nvidia GTX 1080 AMP Edition, and was thinking about getting a second one. Problem is, I don't have a whole lot of space under the first one, which is already on the top PCIe slot, and if I put the second one on the 3rd slot, it would blow heat on the SSD, and my Hue+. So, to counter that, I was thinking about having the GPUs in SLI, but have the second card facing upwards, so the fans would be blowing up towards the first card. Would this be a wise move? Would it even fit?

Solution
Also, your card wont blow heat onto your SSD and HUE, it will intake from that direction.
GPU fans blow across their heatsink, not down.

You could technically use PCIe 3.0 x16 riser cards and jury-rig a platform on which your cards will rest, but you have to be careful about those riser cards, and your SLI bridge will need to support the extra distance.
