My I7 3770k is overclocked to a stable 4.5 GHz and has been for a couple years now. I recently upgraded my ram (24 gb), gpu (gtx 1070) and psu (750). Some of the more recent system requirements for games are "requiring" later gen I7 processors. So my question is will my i7 3770 k still be sufficient for awhile with it being overclocked to 4.5 Ghz? I figure some of the more beefy requirements listed are more for marketing and selling new processors but I just wanted to get some other peoples opinions.

You're right in thinking it's mostly marketing. Your overclocked 3770K should be close to as fast as a stock 6700K, which has a 15-20% (average) IPC advantage. It's still a very respectable chip.
it is just marketing hype. battle field ww1 states you need an i5 6500 or an amd 6350 as minimum....
yet the 6350 is about 40% weaker per core so isnt even in the same ballpark as the i5. so its either a typo or some 1 is having a laugh in the marketing dept at e.a.
i ran bf1 on my oc'd i7 920@3.6, gtx 970, 12gigs ram @1080p and it was the gpu choking not my cpu.

You're ALL good. Especially at 4.5 on that chip. If you wanna add a little more pep you could get some seriously fast DDR 3 RAM, like 2400, clock your BLCK to 125 to get your bus moving quicker too, and you'll continue to smoke every AMD system out there that thousands of budget gamers are running on.
