I'm getting code 53 on my x99-a using Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 at 2666MHz (4x16gb). All the sticks were in the Mobo's specifically designated positions. Went ahead and unplugged all but one stick, MEMOk'd the mobo and its still at 53. The guy at ASUS said the Vengeance LPX 64gbs weren't on their compatible list but everyone I've talked to has said there should be no issue with this RAM/mobo combo. Can anyone provide any insight here? Should I try different sticks in different positions or are we just dealing with basic incompatibility? Much appreciated.

I just finished about 2 weeks of headaches with that board for a friends build. From just my personal experience that board is INCREDIBLY picky about its RAM and the higher the capacity the picker it seems to get. I went with the sticks everyone recomended and while I didn't get any bad codes, testing the RAM with Memtest86+ gave back errors. Swapped it out with RAM from their list and it worked fine. We ended up going with G.Skill F4-3000C15Q-32GRK.

It's also possible you got a bad set of RAM. Either way I'd really suggest looking at their QVL and going off that and returning the kit you have now as defective.
