I accidentally broke the space key on my Corsair K30 gaming keyboard?

About in June or July I got myself a new gaming keyboard: The Corsair K30. It works really well and I love it. However I move it around a lot for lan parties and recently discovered that some of the keys pop off. Most of the time I have been able to fix them but the other night after putting my keyboard back (not so properly) I accidentally broke the space bar on my keyboard. Basically the space bar button and the "altgr" button on the right side of the keyboard popped off. I was able to put the alt button back on fine but the space bar is a bit more tricky. Basically there is a small metal bridge piece underneath that I guess acts as a support for the long button. I managed to put it back on but then the space bar wouldn't move so I was afraid I broke it. I then took off the space bar key and put it back on simply without the small metal support bar. It works but the bar is unused so I am worried about the structural integrity of the space bar. Will it stop working after a while or is the space bar not necessary except for extra reassurance? What does that little metal thing actually do on the keyboard if anyone knows? I don't really know a lot about the structure of the keyboard so if anyone could help me out that would be fantastic.

Many thanks in advance!

The metal bar would be positions in a specific way, usually under some tabs. If it's not positioned properly it can cause the key not to push down, which is what you saw. You can have someone else look at it or contact Corsair support and check with them since the keyboard should still be under warranty.
