Hi all,

Recently built a PC:

i5-6500
ASUS Z170 AR Motherboard
Kingston Hyper X Fury 2133Mhz RAM
Antec HCG-620 PSU
Deepcool Tesseract Case
Sandisk Extreme II 120GB SSD

Also have a R9 390X that I will plug in later on.

So when I power on my PC, I get LED lights on the mobo and from the fans, along with the sound of the hard drive booting up, but get no POST or anything from the display.

I have double checked the power for the CPU and motherboard and everything is alright. I have tried swapping the RAM into different slots (using a single module). I have tried using different displays and still nothing.

I get a PWR led and another led which is called XLED and they both are solid green, but I get nothing from the DRAM led.

Any ideas on a fix or if the motherboard is faulty? Got the motherboard second hand and the previous owner had it working fine. Also got the CPU second hand and it was working but I accidentally dropped it from about 1 metre but I'm pretty sure the CPU is fine.

Thanks

Solution
Hmm, maybe the the vga/dvi port is not working. Install the R9 390x in the slot and use just one ram stick in the ram slot 1 and try to boot. Let me know if it works.

this may sound stupid but maybe it can help:
have you inserted the cpu correctly in your mobo? A 'technician' gave me back my pc, would power up etc but no post and I've searched about a week online before finding that the idiot put the cpu wrongly in it's socket. Yes a cpu is notched to avoid that as we all know. Well he forced it in and shut the lock (bending a few socket tabs which fortunately I was able to bend back thx to utter eyesore, patience and precision). Visually inspect whatever you can, also smelling the components can help find burnt stuff. Best of luck.
