Hi guys , i have very little knowledge regarding RAM's, what i know is the Mhz - Higher = Better - however i do knot know what the C thing stands for and if the number is high better visversa.

example of this is "32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200 (PC4-25600) C16"
from what i understand from this is that its a set of 2 16GB RAM's, so Dual Channel (i presume as its a set of 2 and not 4), DDR4 tech, 3200MHz..... so my main question what in gods name is "PC4-25600" and "C16", is getting a lower C -C15 14 or even lower better? which one of the dominators would fit me more? -32GB ram would be optimal for me-

i have a Motherboard that supports x4 DIMM, Dual Channel, XMP Support.

Thanks guys

Lower C number is better, as it indicates lower latency and (most likely) better quality memory chips as well. But in reality, you won't feel any difference in terms of performance. Pick the cheaper one, or the one with better warranty, whichever is more important to you. You will most likely need 4 modules in 4x8 configuration.

That's the CAS latency. You would want it as low as possible, but there is a trick. The number is how many clock cycles of latency there are, but of course the clock cycles get shorter for memory that runs at higher clocks. So to get the real latency you have to divide it by the memory clocks.

PC4-25600 is the memory bandwidth which is a measure of how fast data can be transferred to or from the RAM. It is a purely hypothetical calculated number. In practice, that number will not be reached due to system constraints.

C16 is a measure of latency which also affects how fast data can be transferred. A lower number is better but you probably won't notice the difference between C16 and C14 in practice because so many other factors affect RAM access times.

Ok that explains alot of things espcly the prices of the ram.....
My mb memory specs are:
4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3866(O.C.)/3800(O.C.)/3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3500(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
-ROG Maximus viii extreme assembly- motherboard

Which dominator platinum should i use, 4x8 or 16x2 n which mhz is best? Cause their is a 4x8 3333 - 16x2 3200 - n another 8x4 2800 (which is the most expensive one)
In regards to my MPb what do i go for....
Thanks
