im not a computer expert, i bought a new case (inwin 303) my brother didnt want to stuff around with the front leds because im using a STOCK ACER mother board and the pins are not marked its only colour coded, anyway ive found through some threads how to get the power led and that hdd led working but there is leds around the inwin logo and io on the front and i dont know how to connect it

tldr inwin 303 front led for io isnt marked on mother board where to go not sure what to do

edit: ive resorted to cutting down the middle as said in this thread because there was no pin in the middle, now i just need to know where to put them, https://www.ephotozine.com/forums/topic/pc-builders---pls-help-me-----power-led-cable--3-pin--to-motherboard--2-pin--26956

Solution

i suspect that the front LED is connected to the PSU not the motherboard, its not particularly clear from the case manual

hmm i see but thats not the problem ive found a thread that has the colours number coded and they worked but the one im having trouble with is a 3 pin, i have 6 pins not plugged into anything. 3 down side by side to each other and i dont know which one to do, ive found nothing on it because most cases dont have IO LEDS at the front

according to the 303 case manual the 3 pin connector is the power led, the blue cable is the positive wire, white is negative and SHOULD have another 2 pin plug that is wired to the same holes

from the manual directly

just find out which pins are on the board and connect them up.

if you dont have the 2 pin as the manual suggests, you could always split them yourself with a sharp knife or craft knife (or wire cutters, if you so choose) but thats on you to decide.

what is the motherboard please? Or the model of the computer it came from?

First identify what the cable is for, so it should say on the side of the plug what it was for, or what is the colour of the cable, refer to the picture i posted, it should tell you there.

Next is to identify what goes where on the board, which is why i need a model number or something. not all Acer motherboards are the same.

OK, I suspect its a foxconn based board, the front panel headers are "usually" the same across different boards. the green pins are for the power LED, the left one (closest to the number 2) is the positive and should have the wire that has a colour connected to it, the one next to it, should have the white or black cable connected to it.

I dont think you have to do anything.

the one you split, has a 2 port connector coming off of it (at least thats what i can tell from the photo) if those are already connected to the board, then you are ok, the 4 at the end may be something proprietary to Acer cases, in your case, if the power LED is already working, then you are fine and nothing else needs to be done.

ahha i get what your trying to say but the reason why i cant find any answers is because most cases dont have leds for the IO, the power led works but there is 2 power leds for this case because there is leds for the INWIN logo and around the IO as seen here \https://gyazo.com/65f30366c296a2905b881d6f825ad0b5
