This morning, I turned on my computer and my power supply fan started going crazy. It would surge from low speed to high speed, stay at high speed and then it sounded as if the fan would intermittently lose power at full speed. Normally when I turn my PC on, the graphics card fans do a quick full speed burst and that is it. I took the power supply out of the case and inspected everything, all the connections were solid and there didn't seem to be any dust accumulation. I then experimented with the eco mode switch and it seemed to only recreate the issue when eco mode was on. Mind you, I have a 1000 watt, Platinum, EVGA Supernova power supply and the power usage of my setup is only about 475W(Extreme future-proofing). So there is no way I'm actually straining this PSU. This also happened directly after startup and did this for about a minute before I powered it down and started attempting to diagnose the issue. I've never even heard the PSU fan once before this time. ANY IDEAS?

P.S. it has now completely stopped and hasn't started doing it since. I've tried restarting the system about 5 times and it has completely stopped. Power supply is only 6 months old

1| How are you so sure your power draw fromt eh PSu is 475W at best?
2| Can you please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS?
3| Since the PSU is supposedly under the warranty period, you may want to contact your seller and EVGA for that matter to see what can be done about it. It seems like the fan controller is failing and it might just fail when you least expect it.
