Friends,
I am going to install windows 7 64bit ultimate on my PC.
I have used 8.1 & 10 before and 10 was a nightmare for me. 8.1 was great and became my buddy but I wanted Windows 7.

Here's my specs.

Intel Core i7 6700 3.4GHz
Asus h170 pro motherboard

What are the things I must download post install?

I mean any drivers or something?
As I have heard that windows 7 doesn't support skylake.
I will be using a retail CD .

2. Should I update windows 7 ?
I mean it won't cause any problems, will it?
There's going to be hours of download as I have to download all updates since 2009.

Will there be any improvements in performance after making the PC up to date?

Pls help.
Thnx in advance

Solution
correct. there are no chipset drivers for skylake when you use windows 7 so the best way to install with the least problems would be via DVD

with no chipset drivers available it could hinder performance in things like games. if you are going to be keeping this computer for a long time i recommend to get windows 10

the problem with that info is one of the steps mentions a "ps/2" simulator to make usb devices work with a windows 7 install, i do not think every modern motherboard has a feature like this. still good though
