So I have a low end pc fx6300 r7 250x and I tried installing my friend s 750ti.I sadly forgot to uninstall the old drivers and now every time I boot my pc I get a black screen with both gpus. What do I do?

Solution

Yes bad ram will do that. In the future this is very important information so if you run into trouble swapping hardware in the future make sure you mention EVERYTHING you did. Had you mentioned this before I would have gotten you the answer immediately.

Are you using both GPU's at the same time? Do you have a display adapter on the MB? If so use that connection (with both GPU's not in the system) and go and uninstall all GPU drivers, shut down the system and install the 750ti then power back up. From there you should be able to download the newest drivers from Nvidia.

Ok if thats the case its definitely NOT the drivers. Can you double check that your GPU is securely installed and as well the power connectors are on? Do you see it power up (fans turn on?)

I am connecting it to the gpu via hdmi(my chip doesnt have intergrated graphics).I also forgot to mention that I tried clearing the cmos because I thought it would be helpful when swapping gpus. Can this be the reason why my pc has black screen?
