Hello, friends

I would like to know the ranking of future 3dmark and pcmark8 benchmarks, 90% are asus X99 Rampage V edition 10 ???

The rampage V x99 Edition 10 is the best motherboard for benchmarks?

I see also that the first places in the ranking use 2,3,4-SLI Titan X Pascal.

How would this be possible if the rampage v edition 10 only supports 4 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (supports x16, x16 / x16, x16 / x8 / x8, x16 / x8 / x8 / x8 or x8 / x8 / x8 / x8 mode with 40 -lane CPU ???

The best performance for a 4-SLI Titan x Pascal would be x16, x16, x16, x16, am I correct ??

In the case it would be better an motherboard ASUS X99 E WS or ASRock Extreme11 that allow x16, x16, x16, x16 - 40 lanes??

I appreciate the help. Thanks!

It's possible it offers better performance, but the difference is probably pretty small. It's just as likely that extreme benchmarkers buy it to the the "best" mobo because it's basically the most expensive X99 board on the market.

The difference in performance between PCIe 3.0 x16 and x8 is usually small to nonexistent. Also, the mobos that support 16/16/16/16 use a PLX switch to simulate having more PCIe lanes. However, there's still the same number of CPU PCIe lanes, so the bandwidth between the CPU and GPUs wouldn't change compared to a mobo without a PLX switch. I'm doubtful that there's any performance benefit to using a PLX switch to get 16/16/16/16 compared to 16/8/8/8.

Interesting your answer.

I Understood. This PLX switch simulating more lanes may be delays in the boot time?

What do you think of Rampage V edition 10? I have a X99 deluxe 2 and I am very disappointed with the boot time, 40s to enter the windows 10.

Another question, is it possible to have boot time difference between X99 motherboards?

What would you, X99 motherboards?

Asus ROG Rampage V edition 10
Asus Rampage V Extreme
Asrock extreme 11
ASUS x99 E WS

Thanks again friend

Sorry, don't really know anything about those motherboards. Yeah, I think boot time can vary with motherboard, you may be able to find reviews for those mobos that include boot time benchmarks. It's more dependent on what you're using for a boot drive though.

Lots of things affect boot times, primary are the BIOS, and from there the Drives. One of the reasons to keep the BIOS up to date, they are constantly updating for compatibility to newer hardware coming out. If going big, would go with one of the Rampages or the Rock mobo. What CPU are you planning on and how many GPUs?

I already have 6950X and 2-SLI Titan X Pascal and Intel 750 1.2TB NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD (Windows 10 x64 - boot UEFI mode) and 128gb RAM G-skill Trindent Z DDR4 3200MHZ

I'm currently running on a bench with Asus X99 deluxe II, but I am not satisfied with the motherboard, boot time 40s to enter the windows 10, ridiculous this time. I have done everything to improve it, no success. I have the latest version BIOS 1003 updated. I get 20S with q-codes (25/41 3 times / 32/60/33 / 6F / 70/71/79/91/95/99 / A2 / AD / B1) and more 20s to enter the Windows 10.

XMP MODE
dram timing IGNORE
Attempt fast cold boot enable
Attempt fast boot enable
Fast boot enable
Launch CSM disable
secure boot windows UEFI mode
asus logo disable
f1 error disable

Any other suggestions? I'll have the same problem with the rampage V edition 10? Thanks again

So, in the bios I disabled the boot logo Asus, disabling it the post delay disappears. The post report I not found where it is?

I tested also with the boot logo asus enabled and post delay to 0, no success.
