My computer currently has an ASUS M5A97 with an FX-6300 and I'm basically going to scrap all that.

I have two 760s in SLI and was just going to pick up a third used for cheap to give myself a tiny performance boost instead of shelling out a few hundred for a 900/1000 series card right now.

However, in the specifications it says that one of the PCIe slots is x4 max, but also states that it supports Quad-GPU SLI. I don't know a whole lot about the specifics of PCIe, so will it work?

Solution
Their specs are a bit confusing:
Supports NVIDIA® Quad-GPU SLI™ Technology
Supports NVIDIA® 2-Way SLI™ Technology

What this means is, you can have two cards in SLI, but 4 GPUs (IE you could SLI two 690s for a quad SLI setup)
So no, you cant add a third 760. No real reason to anyway. Unless they are next to free, the Tri SLI performance difference would never be worth the money.

That's really obnoxious. What's the point of the third PCIe?
