As the title suggests I now only have 3.95Gb usable RAM from the 8Gb installed after windows updated to anniversary last night. It was fine before.

The bios now only shows 4080Mb as total memory on start up but if I go into the Bios the main screen says 4080Gb total but looking at the slots it sees a 4Gb stick in both slots 2 and 4.

In windows itself the system screen says 8Gb total (3.95Gb usable)

Can anyone shed light on this? I have had the pc running fine for ages prior to this and the only change was a windows update!

Cheers

Windows 10 has an effect with the BIOS. Try swapping location of the memory and starting into Win10 again. This can sometimes allow the BIOS "AND" Win10 to review installed hardware and identify the full amount installed.

Thanks for the replies. I switched the RAM over to slots 1 & 3 from 2 & 4 and it worked fine. Didn't try it before as it worked fine for more than a year.

Happy customer!!
