Good morning, I have a very strange problem, i have a small network and with one laptop (mine) i can't access to the IP/web page 192.168.0.254 (my mikrotik router) but with all other laptop, PC and even android phone yes.
If I try to ping this IP I get a response. I try to use different browser but nothing. With Firefox I get: Connection was reset - with Chrome I get : the site can't be reach - With IE : This page can’t be displayed - and even with winbox i get: could not connect to 192.168.0.254.
If i try to reach other ip/webpage I don't have any problem
I really don't know what happen
Thanks for your help
Yann

I would use one of the devices that allows you to connect to the router page -and see if there is any setting (such as MAC address filtering) is preventing your laptop from connecting.

If not, I would try doing a factory reset on the router. If you do that and you still cannot connect -the problem is with your laptop. Possibly your firewall is preventing access -maybe start there.

Thanks I will have a look at this. I use Kaspersky IS
Some thing i forget to said, I could access to this IP before without any problem. The problem start when I try to setup and WIFI extender with same IP as web page. I disconnect my laptop from actual network off course and try to reach the web page of the WIFI extender and nothing !

That is your problem -you can't have the extender as the same IP as the router. Each device on your network must have a unique IP.

Change the IP of the Extender to something else in the range of the network - such as 192.168.0.250. Then have the extender point to the router ( 192.168.0.254 ). If there is a "gateway" setting on the extender, this is where you would put it.

Hi,
I change right after making the setup the extender IP of course, it was at 192.168.0.254 only to enter in the setup and then I change. Other wise no PC or laptop would be able to run properly. the gateway is well also.

I check everything and I don't see what is wrong, like I said before I use to go to this WEB page almost everyday. I try to reset on put an old setup backup that I know it is OK on the Mikrotik Routers Router, but nothing.

Getting really frustrated. :pfff:
Any other idea ?
Thanks for your time.

I would do a factory reset on both the router and the extender.

Reconfigure the main router and verify that it works,

Then, reconfigure the extender -making sure to use a different IP address than the main router.

Unfortunately I can't reconfigure the router because Mikrotik router is "too" complex for me and we have two other WIFI AP depending from this router
But thanks any way

Try just;
arp -d

without the asterisk, that should still clear the laptops's ARP cache
