I know that aligning an SSD partition is important in order to get the most performance out of the drive, but I am unsure about hybrid drives.

I have a Seagate ST2000DX001. Using AOMEI Partition Assistant I have the option to optimize it, but are there any advantages or disadvantages to doing this?

Solution
I don't think it's a big deal on Hybrid drives to align to the 4K sector boundary. The SSD portion basically just acts as a large cache anyway. It might make a marginal difference, but it'd be slight at best. There's no disadvantage to doing the optimization, it's just going to shift all your data so it aligns to the physical 4K sector boundaries.
